What is Counselling?

Counselling is a quiet, confidential, safe space for you, as a client, to bring all your problems, thoughts and feelings and to be listened to. As a Counsellor, I will help you to reflect upon and explore your thoughts and feelings in an empathetic, non-judgemental, patient way and help you to find the direction in which you want to proceed. Counselling is NOT about advice giving and there is no magic wand; beneficial changes can take time.

What Conditions Can it Help?

Alcohol, drug, gambling and sex addictions, sexual and emotional abuse, depression, anxiety, anger management, stress management, bereavement, grief and loss, self-harming, improving self-confidence, self-esteem and assertiveness, relationship problems, psychosexual. These are general, please ask me if you require something more specific.

What Benefits can be Expected?

As a Counsellor, and someone that is not involved in your day-to-day life, I can give you a chance to talk things through in a confidential space which is just for you. Sometimes, a person outside your immediate family and friends can see a bigger, clearer, picture.
